Defence Industries President Haluk Gorgun wrote on social media: "We brought our HURJET together with the Blue Homeland on the 104th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The first HURJET to be delivered to our Air Force Command successfully completed its maiden flight after ground and taxi tests. The will that carried our independence to victory continues to give wings to our national aviation today."

Launched in 2017, the HURJET program passed a critical milestone with its first flight on April 25, 2023. During flight test activities carried out with two prototypes, the aircraft reached supersonic speeds, proving its supersonic capability and drawing considerable attention both domestically and internationally.

Following those achievements, work on the serial production process accelerated. After final assembly line activities were completed on the first HURJET to be delivered to the Air Force Command under the contract, ground and taxi tests were carried out successfully.
