Istanbul police detained a man in Sisli who was preparing for an armed attack.

Patrol officers in Esentepe neighborhood on Zincirlidere Street stopped the suspect after they saw a ski mask hanging around his neck. They checked his identity and carried out a search on the spot.

Officers found an unlicensed handgun and ammunition. They arrested the man and took him to the security directorate for further questioning.

Police examined the suspect’s mobile phone and found a photo of a person who was staying at a hotel in Sisli.

Investigators said the man planned to attack this individual and discovered that he intended to carry out the attack in exchange for money.
