The 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, the U.N’.s annual climate conference, opens in Antalya, southern Türkiye, with preparations at the venue now complete.
The photographs show the Blue Zone as it looked on Nov. 7, 2026, two days before the summit’s start, when the site was being readied for delegates arriving from around the world.
The conference area covers 1.1 million square meters in Antalya and is divided into two main zones, each designed for a different type of activity.
The Blue Zone is set aside for official negotiations, high-level meetings and diplomatic talks held under the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Entry to the Blue Zone is controlled and follows UN accreditation rules, meaning only registered participants can enter the negotiation area.
The zone covers 527,414 square meters and includes plenary halls, delegation offices, pavilions, a press and media center, and restaurants.
The Green Zone, which covers 582,244 square meters, serves as the public participation area of the conference and hosts exhibitions, concerts, panels and workshops.
Thematic centers in the Green Zone include the Türkiye Pavilion, the Science Center, Resilient Cities and the Start-up Zone, where the public sector, private sector, academia and civil society are due to share climate solutions.
Leaders, ministers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and civil society representatives from around the world are expected to attend the summit, which is chaired by Türkiye.
COP31 begins on Nov. 9 and runs through Nov. 20, with the Blue Zone and the Green Zone hosting events throughout the 12-day program.
