Istanbul’s municipal council approved a wide-ranging increase in parking and entry fees across the city on Thursday, with some rates set to rise by as much as 62.5% starting January 1, 2026.

The changes apply to car parks operated by Ispark, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), and come as part of the city’s Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.

Steep surge in Fatih, Kadikoy parking fees

The new pricing structure raises short-term parking fees in central areas such as Fatih's Historic Peninsula and the Kadikoy-Rihtim zone. In these districts, the hourly rate for cars in open or covered lots will rise from ₺150 ($3.52) to ₺200, while a 12–24 hour stay will increase from ₺500 to ₺550.

Roadside parking in the same areas will see the most pronounced increases. The daily rate is set to rise by 62.5%, from ₺400 to ₺650. Hourly roadside fees will also be adjusted, with the first hour increasing from ₺150 to ₺220.

In major central districts such as Besiktas, Beyoglu, Kadikoy, Sisli, Fatih, and Uskudar, fees at open and multi-level car parks for the first hour will increase from ₺100 to ₺140, while a full-day stay will rise from ₺400 to ₺450. Roadside parking in these areas will also become more expensive, with the daily fee increasing from ₺300 to ₺500.

In mid-density districts including Atasehir, Bakirkoy, Kartal, and Maltepe, hourly parking in lots will increase from ₺80 to ₺110, and the full-day rate will rise from ₺310 to ₺370. Roadside parking in these districts will see daily rates go up from ₺240 to ₺320.

Outlying districts such as Esenyurt, Basaksehir, Kucukcekmece, and Silivri will also face price hikes. The one-hour rate in these areas will rise from ₺60 to ₺80, while a 12–24 hour stay will increase from ₺200 to ₺260.

Forest park entry fees also raised in Istanbul

The city council also approved higher entry fees for public green spaces, including forests and picnic areas. Entrance for private vehicles will rise from ₺170 to ₺250. The rate for midibuses will increase from ₺750 to ₺1,000, and for motorcycles, from ₺100 to ₺140.

Taxi stands will be affected as well. Entry and exit fees for taxis will rise from ₺25 to ₺30, while the daily station fee will increase from ₺100 to ₺140.

The new tariff will take effect on January 1, 2026, marking the third adjustment to ISPARK fees in recent years following increases of up to 50% in June 2024 and up to 115% in December 2024.
