President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared Tuesday that regional actors aligning with both Ankara and Damascus will ultimately succeed, as he positioned Türkiye as the primary guarantor of Kurdish security and regional stability in Syria.

Speaking in Ankara, Erdogan emphasized that "Türkiye is the guarantor of security, peace, and well-being of Kurds, like all brotherly peoples in Syria." The statement signals Ankara's continued commitment to playing a stabilizing role across Syria's fragmented political landscape, where various ethnic and political groups compete for influence and security.

Diplomatic approach emphasized over military solutions

The Turkish president stressed his administration's preference for peaceful resolution of regional conflicts, stating that Türkiye supports "the establishment of permanent peace throughout our region" and favors "solving problems through dialogue and diplomacy." This messaging comes as Türkiye maintains complex relationships with multiple actors in the Syrian conflict.

Terror-free Türkiye initiative gains momentum

Erdogan highlighted progress in what he termed the "Terror-free Türkiye" process, claiming significant advances in dismantling what he described as "walls of discord woven among members of our nation." He expressed confidence that despite opposition efforts, "this time they will not succeed" in disrupting the initiative, citing popular support for the program.

The president also emphasized Türkiye's support for Palestinians, noting that his government "never abandons our Gazan brothers in the face of Israel's vile oppression." He cited diplomatic efforts, including letter diplomacy, phone calls, international meetings, and over 102,000 tons of aid, as evidence of Türkiye's commitment to defending Gaza's rights and legal standing.
