Several major roads in Ankara to be closed for Tour of Türkiye on May 3

The Ankara Police Department has announced that multiple major roads in the capital will be closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday due to the 61st Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye.

According to the statement, traffic restrictions will begin at 6 a.m. local time as part of security and route management measures for the international cycling event. Several key arterial roads and their connecting streets will remain closed in both directions throughout the event.

Extensive closures to affect major boulevards, central city corridors

Among the affected routes are sections of Cumhurbaskanligi Boulevard, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Boulevard, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Boulevard, Bestepe Street, Alparslan Turkes Street, Bahriye Ucok Street, Maresal Fevzi Cakmak Street, Akdeniz Street, Genclik Street, Anit Street, Dogol Street, Kazim Karabekir Street, and Cumhuriyet Street, along with all connecting roads and side streets along the designated race corridor.

Authorities stated that the closures are necessary to ensure the safe and uninterrupted conduct of the race, which will bring together professional cyclists from various countries. Motorists have been urged to use alternative routes and comply with traffic instructions issued by law enforcement officers.
