Municipal inspectors in Türkiye’s southern Hatay province seized about 15 kilograms (33 pounds) of spoiled chicken from a restaurant operating in unsanitary conditions.
Local authorities discovered the chicken during a routine food safety inspection in the Kirikhan district, according to Ihlas News Agency (IHA).
During the inspection, municipal enforcement officers, known locally as zabita, came across a restaurant selling fried chicken under severely unhygienic conditions.
A closer examination revealed that approximately 15 kilograms of chicken, including both raw and cooked products intended for customers, had spoiled.
Following the discovery, authorities disposed of the contaminated chicken under the supervision of food engineers.
Authorities initiated proceedings against the restaurant after documenting the unsanitary conditions and identifying the spoiled food products.
The inspection was part of municipal efforts to protect public health in the district.
