Türkiye's Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli said terrorist activities must be completely eradicated not only west of the Euphrates but also east of the river from Ayn al-Arab to Qamishli.

"Damascus' security is Ankara's security. The happiness, safety and unity of the Syrian people are the same as those of the Turkish nation," Bahceli said during his party's parliamentary group meeting on Tuesday.

YPG/SDF has been 'wiped from the field', Bahceli says

Bahceli said the YPG/SDF terror group has been expelled from areas it nested in through the Syrian Army's "effective combat capability" and finally driven out from west of the Euphrates.

"In addition to Aleppo, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor have been liberated from captivity, oppression, imposition and occupation. The YPG/SDF, which resisted the March 10 Agreement, dragged its feet at every opportunity and sabotaged the table and negotiation environment with external influences, has been expelled from areas it clung to through a comprehensive sweeping operation based on force and weapons," Bahceli stated.

The MHP leader emphasized that YPG/SDF provocations in Syria were seen as an attempt to undermine the Feb. 27 Peace and Democratic Society process by the PKK's founding leadership itself.

"The YPG/SDF being forced to sign the 14-article ceasefire and full integration agreement with the Damascus administration after raising the surrender flag when things got tough is quite meaningful and auspicious," he added.

'YPG/SDF does not represent our Kurdish brothers'

Bahceli drew a clear distinction between Syrian Kurds and the terror group, stating, "Let me state this again: Our Kurdish brothers and sisters are one thing; the YPG/SDF is another. The YPG/SDF is a terrorist organization. Its claim to represent our Kurdish brothers and sisters, to speak and claim rights on their behalf, is a complete lie, a fantasy from A to Z."

He noted Arab tribes that rose up, particularly in Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, joined hands with the Damascus administration and demonstrated an extraordinary struggle against YPG/SDF terrorism.

The Nationalist Movement Party leader also demanded comprehensive counterterrorism operations across all of northeastern Syria.

"Not only the west of the Euphrates but also the east of the Euphrates must be addressed. Terrorist activities operating from Ayn al-Arab to Qamishli must be completely eradicated. Area clearance must be implemented comprehensively and in coordination," Bahceli said.

"We will not tolerate, submit to, or back down from terrorism and the bloody conspiracies and complications of terror organizations, neither domestically nor abroad," he added.

'Unitary Syria must not be open to discussion'

Bahceli praised Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa's decree as an accurate, meaningful, and important step taken at the right time to consolidate unity and integrity in Syria.

"Discussions such as federation, confederation, and autonomy that could revive old conflict lines and terrorist activities should not be brought to the agenda based on the principle of Syria's indivisible integrity with its country and nation," Bahceli stated.

"It is very important that everyone bound to the Syrian Republic by citizenship has equal rights, freedoms and obligations, and that ethnic or religious differences have no importance in the eyes of the state. Assurance should be given to all social segments that the most important common denominator will be 'Syrian citizenship,'" he added.

Bahceli: Erdogan should chair Gaza Board of Peace

On the Gaza transition governance 'Board of Peace,' Bahceli said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan should be its chairman.

"On the Palestine and Gaza issue, the Board of Peace chairman should be Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Then, whoever wants to join can join. The head of peace is Türkiye; its head is the president," he said.

The MHP leader also emphasized that Türkiye's political compass remains fixed on Ankara.

"We must place the fixed point of the compass on Ankara and analyze and follow the world, events and the strong flow of life at a 360-degree angle with the moving point," he stated.

"Our wish and hope is this: that the 14-article ceasefire and full integration agreement signed between the Damascus administration and the YPG/SDF constitutes a turning point and provides maximum support for the realization of a peaceful Syria aiming for political and social stability with the 'Terror-Free Region' goal," Bahceli concluded.
