Turkish Air Force holds training flight south of Cyprus

Türkiye's Ministry of National Defense (MoND) stated that combat and support aircraft from the Turkish Air Force (TurAF) conducted a training flight in international airspace south of the island of Cyprus, as Türkiye's top military leadership traveled to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for anniversary ceremonies marking the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation.

In a post on its X account, the ministry said: "A training flight was conducted in international airspace over the Mediterranean, south of the island of Cyprus, with the participation of combat and support aircraft that took off from various bases under our Air Force Command. Always, everywhere, we are the unwavering guardians of our skies."

Turkish military leadership travels to TRNC

Defense Minister Yasar Guler traveled to the TRNC to attend ceremonies marking the 52nd anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, accompanied by Chief of General Staff Gen. Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, Naval Forces Commander Adm.

Ercument Tatlioglu, Air Force Commander Gen. Ziya Cemal Kadioglu, Land Forces Commander Gen. Metin Tokel, and Deputy Minister Salih Ayhan.

TRNC President Tufan Erhurman received Guler during the visit, according to a post from the Defense Ministry's X account.

Deputy Minister Ayhan, Chief of General Staff Gen. Bayraktaroglu and the force commanders also took part in the meeting with Erhurman.
