An Istanbul court ordered the closure of independent Turkish news portal T24’s website and social media accounts as part of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office investigation known as “Ailem Guvende” (My Family is Safe).
The Istanbul 1st Criminal Judgeship of Peace issued the decision after prosecutors said T24 had published 118 pieces of content over the past year that they characterized as “LGBT propaganda.”
The ruling was sent to the Cyber Security Presidency for implementation.
The order applies to both T24’s website and its social media accounts.
The measure was issued within the scope of the ongoing “Ailem Guvende” investigation led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
