Turkish defense firm Asisguard has delivered its domestically developed electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance, and targeting system, the Aggoz Gimbal 275, to Türkiye’s security forces, the company announced.

The Ankara-based manufacturer, known for its electro-optical vision and unmanned drone systems, said the Aggoz Gimbal 275 successfully completed field tests before entering service. The system, described as a domestically made “eye” in the field, is the product of long-term research and development to boost operational capabilities.

The Aggoz Gimbal 275 will be deployed across air, land, and sea platforms. Equipped with a high-resolution daytime camera and a cooled thermal camera, it can conduct long-term reconnaissance and surveillance both at night and in adverse weather conditions. The system also includes a laser rangefinder, automatic target tracking, and image stabilization.

‘Critical advantages’ for security forces

Baris Duzgun, Asisguard’s general manager and CEO, told Anadolu that the firm has focused on developing homegrown defense solutions while also achieving strong export performance.

“Surveillance and visibility are tremendously important in today’s combat environment, and there’s a need for high-performance electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance, and targeting systems to boost the effectiveness of offensive operations and to detect targets from great distances as early and as accurately as possible,” Duzgun said.

He added that Aggoz will provide security forces with “critical advantages” in border security, counterterrorism, and reconnaissance missions. “While addressing the needs of today and also being futureproof, we will continue to enhance the performance of our systems and develop new platforms,” he said.
