Prosecutors have demanded up to five years in prison for a 71-year-old man accused of sexually harassing South Korean social media influencer Hyojeong Park during a livestream in Istanbul.

The incident occurred on June 6 in the Kadikoy district while Park—known online as "Mhyochi"—was walking and broadcasting live. Video footage showed the suspect, identified as Yusuf Ziya A., approaching her, allegedly making inappropriate physical contact and remarks before Park fled.

Following the viral spread of the video, Istanbul police launched an investigation and detained the suspect in Pendik. He was later arrested on charges of “sexual assault through harassment.”

According to the indictment prepared by the Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect held the woman’s hand and kissed it without her consent, made sexually suggestive comments, and touched her inappropriately while winking.

Prosecutors noted that the victim clearly expressed her discomfort and attempted to distance herself, eventually running away. Forensic analysis confirmed the allegations, and the suspect’s denial was dismissed as an attempt to avoid punishment.

Yusuf Ziya A. has been charged with “sexual assault through harassment” and faces between two and five years in prison if convicted. The trial will begin on July 7 at the Anadolu 54th Criminal Court of First Instance.
