Turkish teams sweep top 3 spots in International Best Sniper Team Competition

Turkish military teams dominated the fifth International Best Sniper Team Competition held in Isparta, securing all three top positions in the prestigious event that drew elite marksmen from 15 countries.

According to a statement from Türkiye's Ministry of National Defense (MoD) shared on social media, the Land Forces Command team claimed first place, while another team from the same command took second. The Special Forces Command team under the General Staff finished third in the competition.

Elite international participation

The competition was hosted at the Mountain Commando School and Training Center Command in Isparta on May 5-15. In addition to Türkiye, sniper teams from Azerbaijan, Albania, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Georgia, Italy, Qatar, Kosovo, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Libya, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia participated in the event.

Observer delegations from the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, and Turkmenistan also attended the competition to monitor the proceedings.

Strong Turkish representation

A total of 26 sniper teams competed in the event, with Türkiye represented by eight national teams: two from the Land Forces Command, two from the Naval Forces Command, two from the Special Forces Command, and two from the Gendarmerie General Command.

The competition tested various sniper skills and tactics, with teams scored based on their performance across multiple disciplines designed to simulate real-world operational scenarios.

Medal distribution among participating nations

Based on the points earned throughout the competition, participating countries were awarded medals for their performance. Türkiye, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Uzbekistan, and Italy earned gold medals, showcasing the highest level of skill in the competition.

Bulgaria, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and Bahrain were awarded silver medals for their strong performances. Azerbaijan, Qatar, and Albania rounded out the medal count by earning bronze medals.

The competition highlighted the growing importance of specialized military skills in modern warfare and provided an opportunity for international military cooperation and exchange of expertise among allied and partner nations.
