Türkiye has successfully extradited nine fugitives wanted for serious crimes ranging from organized crime and homicide to aggravated sexual abuse, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced Monday, marking another milestone in the government’s ongoing international crackdown on criminal networks.

Eight of the individuals were sought under Interpol Red Notices for crimes committed abroad, while one was wanted nationally. The fugitives were apprehended in Georgia (6), Spain, Azerbaijan, and Montenegro, following close coordination between Türkiye’s Interior Ministry and law enforcement agencies in the respective countries.

The latest extraditions bring the total number of returns under the current cabinet to 416.

Notorious figures among those returned

Among the fugitives extradited was A.A., a member of the infamous “Daltonlar” organized crime group, who was captured in Georgia and charged with membership in a criminal organization and intentional killing.

Other high-profile returns include:

  • Y.D., arrested in Spain, wanted for armed robbery involving multiple accomplices.
  • A.K., located in Azerbaijan, accused of armed robbery and prison escape.
  • D.D., extradited from Montenegro, sought for intentional killing, forgery of official documents, and escape from custody.
  • T.O., linked to the “Demirozler” crime group, returned from Georgia on charges of intentional killing.
  • B.G., also from Georgia, accused of narcotics trafficking.
  • E.K., indicted for aggravated child sexual abuse and unlawful detention, captured in Georgia.
  • M.O., wanted for fraud, negligent homicide, zoning violations, and assault, found in Georgia.
  • S.A.U., nationally wanted for cyber-enabled bank fraud, extradited from Georgia.

Strong message from interior minister

Interior Minister Yerlikaya underscored Türkiye’s commitment to international law enforcement collaboration:
“No matter where they flee, we will locate and bring back every organized crime member and drug trafficker threatening our nation’s peace,” he said.

The operation was carried out with the cooperation of Türkiye’s Justice Ministry, the Interpol-Europol Directorate, and various intelligence and cybercrime units.
