Türkiye has completed the comprehensive modernization of Aselsan's KORAL land-based electronic support and electronic attack system, enhancing the strategic electronic warfare capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces with next-generation subsystems, Aselsan announced in a statement on Friday.

The strategic electronic warfare system, which has successfully served in the Turkish Armed Forces inventory for years, underwent extensive modernization of its critical components. Aselsan updated the system with new-generation subsystems, elevating electronic warfare standards for the Turkish military.

"Aselsan has taken its electronic warfare standards one step further," the company stated, noting that the modernized KORAL has been delivered to the Armed Forces' service.

Adapting to modern battlefield requirements

Modern warfare now shapes itself through both physical elements and invisible signals and electromagnetic waves. From target detection to communications, from radar sensing to satellite navigation, many critical areas depend on electromagnetic spectrum control.

Emerging threats manifest through complex, multi-faceted systems that evade detection and adapt quickly. In this new environment, superiority is measured by qualities such as high output power, advanced antenna technologies, and simultaneous multi-target engagement capacity.

KORAL provides a strategic advantage in the "invisible front" through effective jamming and deception capabilities across a wide frequency range.

According to Aselsan, the system's adaptive structure and advanced electronic support/attack capabilities prepare it not only for current threats but also for future warfare scenarios.

The land-based electronic warfare system distinguishes itself with multiple target jamming and deception capabilities. Its high output power, phased array antenna structure providing active electronic beam scanning, and modern technology offer significant strategic advantages on the modern battlefield.

Core component of Steel Dome air defense system

KORAL serves as one of the fundamental components of the Steel Dome Multi-Layered Air Defense System.

The system provides "unique effectiveness" in suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD) missions, controlling the battlefield with "flawless precision and superior power," according to Aselsan.

The KORAL remote electronic support/electronic attack (ES/EA) system, disables radars in the invisible front, protects friendly forces, and provides information superiority. With its new capabilities, the system elevates Türkiye's air defense power and electronic warfare success to the next level.

The modernized KORAL system features:

  • High output power for extended range operations
  • Active electronic beam scanning through phased array antenna architecture
  • Multiple target jamming and deception capabilities
  • Wide frequency range coverage
  • Adaptive structure for evolving threats

Aselsan emphasized that the system remains "ready for duty as always" to advance Türkiye's air defense capabilities and electronic warfare dominance in the region.
