The Interior Ministry of Türkiye said Friday that 61 fugitives, including 16 wanted under a Red Notice and 45 sought at the national level, have been returned to the country from abroad.
In a statement posted on X, the ministry said the individuals were brought back from Georgia (50), Germany (4), Greece (3), as well as Poland, Portugal, the United Arab Emirates and Bulgaria.
The ministry said the operations were carried out through coordinated efforts involving the police’s Interpol-Europol Department, Justice Ministry officials, and units handling anti-smuggling and organized crime, intelligence, narcotics, cybercrime, public order and counterterrorism.
“Individuals who fled abroad and were subject to arrest warrants were tracked meticulously. Those apprehended through cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of the relevant countries were extradited to our country,” the statement said.
The ministry added that Türkiye will continue efforts to capture and return organized crime members and drug traffickers wanted under Red Notice or at the national level.
