Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Friday that Türkiye is using all diplomatic means to establish stability not only in the Caucasus but across the entire region, according to Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

During their meeting in Istanbul, Erdogan also stressed ongoing diplomatic engagements with other leaders aimed at reducing risks from the escalating cycle of violence triggered by Israel’s attacks on Iran..

He highlighted the importance of the consensus reached in the ongoing peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia, given the current regional context.

The two leaders discussed recent developments in the region, contacts between Ankara and Yerevan, and the peace and dialogue process in the South Caucasus, the Communications Directorate said on social media platform X.

A ‘win-win’ understanding

Erdogan affirmed that Türkiye will continue to provide comprehensive support for efforts focused on the region’s development based on a “win-win” approach.

The meeting also covered potential measures to advance the normalization process between Türkiye and Armenia.

The talks follow Pashinyan’s previous visit to Türkiye in 2023, when he attended Erdogan’s presidential inauguration. The two leaders met face-to-face last month during the European Political Community summit in Albania and spoke by phone during the recent Eid al-Adha holiday.
