Türkiye has added another SIPER long-range air defense system to its integrated air defense architecture, Steel Dome, the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) announced.
SSB President Haluk Gorgun said deliveries to the system continue without interruption and confirmed that an additional SIPER system has entered service.
Gorgun said the serially produced SIPER-1 Long-Range Area Air Defense System successfully completed a live-fire test for autonomous battery acceptance.
The test was conducted under a challenging scenario involving simultaneous maneuvering friendly and hostile air assets.
The designated target was successfully destroyed, confirming SIPER-1’s long-range interception capability and operational maturity.
Gorgun said the systems, developed with national resources and whose mass production continues steadily, are being added to the inventory one by one to strengthen the Turkish Armed Forces.
“With each delivery, we further enhance the field deterrence of Steel Dome,” he said, thanking Aselsan, Roketsan, the Ministry of National Defense, Turkish Armed Forces personnel, and SSB staff for their contributions.
Aselsan said the SIPER-1 serial production battery completed its acceptance firing, noting that the system successfully destroyed its target in a demanding scenario involving maneuvering aircraft.
Roketsan also confirmed the successful test, stating that SIPER struck its target with full accuracy and continues to strengthen Türkiye’s long-range air defense capability as part of the Steel Dome system.
