Auger, a U.S. Twitch streamer who came to Istanbul to attend Travis Scott's concert said he was overcharged during a taxi ride back to his hotel, with the amount withdrawn from his credit card exceeding the price he had reluctantly agreed to pay.

Auger had been trying to return to his hotel late at night after the concert when he got into a taxi. According to the account shared in the source text, the ride should normally have cost around ₺200 to ₺300, but the driver allegedly demanded €50, or about ₺2,675.

Late-night ride turns into costly dispute

Auger reportedly accepted the high fare because of the late hour and the difficulty of getting back to his accommodation in an unfamiliar city. However, the incident did not end with the fare he had agreed to pay.

When the streamer wanted to pay by credit card, the taxi driver brought out a point-of-sale device. After the transaction went through, Auger saw that €136 had been charged to his card. The amount is equal to roughly ₺7,300, far above both the expected cost of the ride and the price he had initially accepted.
