Wildfires leave 92 units destroyed or severely damaged across 5 Türkiye provinces

Wildfires in five provinces across southern and western Türkiye left 92 independent units either severely damaged or destroyed, according to completed damage assessments.

The term "independent unit" refers to a separately counted property, such as a residence. Of the affected units, 58 were identified as homes.

Mugla records highest number of damaged properties

Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum announced on social media that assessment work had been completed in Mugla, Antalya, Aydin, Balikesir and Mersin, where wildfires had broken out in recent days.

According to the figures shared by Kurum, Mugla recorded the heaviest damage, with 43 units severely damaged or destroyed. Antalya and Aydin each reported 20 affected units, while six were identified in Balikesir and three in Mersin.

Homes account for most of the affected units

The assessments showed that residential properties made up the majority of the damage, with 58 homes among the 92 units classified as severely damaged or destroyed.
