Türkiye's Presidency Communications Directorate Center for Combating Disinformation on Monday denied claims circulating on social media that a U.S. military base in Türkiye had been struck, calling the allegations "a clear act of disinformation," as the scale of the U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran and Tehran's retaliatory strikes across the Gulf came into sharper focus.

Türkiye denies US military base strike, says no foreign bases on its soil

"There are no military bases in Türkiye belonging to any foreign country. The airspace, land territory, maritime jurisdiction areas, and military facilities of the Republic of Türkiye are fully under its sovereignty and control," the center said in a statement on X.

"There has been no attack against our country. Posts seeking to portray Türkiye as a party to regional conflicts constitute a clear act of disinformation," the statement added.

The center stated that Ankara's defense and security structure remained fully operational in all its components, with developments being monitored in real time by relevant institutions.

It urged the public to refrain from giving credence to unfounded allegations and to take into consideration only official statements.

US, Israel strike 2,000 targets in Iran

The United States and Israel have struck 2,000 targets in Iran since the start of their military campaign, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing two people familiar with the matter.

The strikes targeted senior military and political officials, air defense systems, ballistic missiles and launch pads, as well as intelligence targets and command centers, the report said.

An Israeli military official said U.S. and Israeli forces had worked together for thousands of hours over recent months to compile a comprehensive target list.

The United States and Israel launched military strikes against Iran on Feb. 28 while negotiations between Tehran and Washington were still underway. The attacks killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei along with numerous senior officials.

The Iranian Red Crescent has reported 555 people killed across 131 cities.

Iran hits six US military sites across Gulf with missiles and drones

Iran has targeted at least six U.S. military sites across the Middle East since the strikes began Saturday, according to an analysis by The New York Times drawing on satellite images, authenticated videos, and statements from U.S. military officials.

Sites in Bahrain, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates, along with three locations in Kuwait, were struck over the weekend.

Several buildings were damaged or destroyed, including satellite communications systems. It remains uncertain how many weapons Iran fired at the bases or how many were intercepted.

U.S. officials reported three service members were killed and five seriously injured in a strike on Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. No fatalities or injuries were reported at the other five identified sites.

On Saturday, Iran hit the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain, causing significant destruction to multiple structures. Verified video showed the base was targeted by both missiles and drones, and the harbor appeared largely devoid of naval ships during the strike.

Satellite imagery from Sunday indicated that two satellite communications terminals were destroyed and several large buildings were either heavily damaged or leveled.

In Kuwait, images taken Sunday afternoon revealed collapsed rooftops at multiple points within Ali al-Salem Air Base following reports of an Iranian strike the previous day.

Footage and photographs confirmed that Iran repeatedly targeted the military installation at Erbil International Airport in Iraq, where U.S. forces are stationed, throughout Saturday and Sunday.

By Sunday morning, satellite images showed four structures in one section of the base had been damaged or destroyed, with fires still burning into early Monday.

Satellite imagery of Jebel Ali Port in Dubai on Sunday showed smoke rising from a large building within a fenced U.S. Navy recreational zone. Although not an official U.S. base, Jebel Ali is among the Navy's most frequently used ports.

A widely circulated video recorded inside Camp Buehring in Kuwait on Sunday showed a drone flying over the installation before exploding within its perimeter. The precise point of impact and extent of damage remain unverified.

Iran retaliated against Israel as well as designated sites in several regional countries hosting U.S. bases, notably Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
