The death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since March 2 rose by 29 over the past 24 hours to 3,666, the Lebanese Health Ministry said, as Israeli forces continued to launch attacks on the country despite a ceasefire agreement.
The ministry said 11,321 people had also been injured in the attacks during the same period.
In its previous update, the ministry had reported that 3,637 people had been killed since Israel began its latest military campaign against Lebanon.
Israeli aircraft carried out further attacks on Tuesday against several towns in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency.
The agency reported airstrikes on Upper Nabatieh, Kfour and Aytit during the afternoon.
The Israeli military began intensive airstrikes on Lebanon on March 2 and occupied several towns in the country’s south.
The Lebanese government said the fighting displaced more than 1 million people.
A temporary 10-day ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel took effect on April 17.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on April 24 that the truce had been extended for another three weeks.
Following a third round of U.S.-mediated negotiations between Lebanon and Israel on May 14 and 15, the ceasefire was extended for another 45 days beginning May 17.
The U.S. State Department said on June 3, after a fourth round of talks in Washington, that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to a comprehensive ceasefire on the condition that Hezbollah completely halt its attacks and withdraw all its forces from south of the Litani River.
Hezbollah rejected the conditional ceasefire.
The Israeli military has continued its attacks on Lebanon despite the ceasefire arrangements announced since April.
