Koc Holding Chairman Omer Koc said the unconditional support of the U.S., U.K. and European Union for Israel had enabled what he described as a genocide in Gaza, warning that Europe had lost its "moral credibility."
Koc made the remarks during the opening of the 27th TURKONFED Business World Summit in Elazig, organized by the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TURKONFED) under the theme "Economic Resilience in an Age of Permanent Uncertainty."
Speaking as the honorary guest on the first day of the summit, Koc addressed the current geopolitical and economic outlook.
Koc said the Russia-Ukraine war had demonstrated that the world had entered a period in which borders could once again be changed by force.
Turning to Gaza, he said the situation had become a humanitarian tragedy and exposed what he described as the failure of international law and international institutions.
"The unconditional support of the U.S., U.K. and European Union for Israel made possible this brutal genocide, which is a disgrace to the West," Koc said.
He also said Western support had enabled what he described as a "narcissistic interpretation" of the principles of law that the West had defended for centuries.
Koc said Europe had lost its moral standing as a result of its approach to Gaza.
"Unfortunately, Europe no longer has even the slightest moral credibility, and this will have very serious consequences that will affect all of us," he said.
