Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the impunity granted to Israel has seriously weakened international law, drawing attention to Israel’s actions, particularly in Palestine, and urging concrete international action.
Araghchi made the remarks at the 17th Al Jazeera Forum held in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
Araghchi said Israel’s expansionist policies have undermined regional stability and created an insecure environment across the Middle East.
“If the world wants peace and stability, it must stop rewarding aggression,” he said.
He pointed to what he described as Israel’s genocide in Palestine, saying Israel carries out its actions with the belief that it will not be punished or held accountable by the international community.
Araghchi also said Israel’s expansionist agenda has been advanced by weakening neighboring countries militarily, technologically, economically and socially.
Araghchi said the immunity granted to Israel has severely weakened the international legal order and said this reality must be acknowledged openly.
“Impunity granted to Israel has seriously weakened international law,” he said, calling for military and trade sanctions against Israel and urging the international community to take concrete steps.
