Iran and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah carried out their first coordinated attacks on Israel in the current conflict, the Israeli military said Wednesday.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said one missile was launched from Iran, while six projectiles, including drones, were launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon.
The attack triggered red alert sirens in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv nearly simultaneously. Interceptions were observed over central Israel.
A short time later, the IDF said Iran and Hezbollah launched a second joint attack.
Israel’s emergency response service Magen David Adom said there were no immediate reports of injuries.
The joint attack reflects coordination between Iran and Hezbollah even after the U.S. and Israel killed senior leaders from both during the first five days of the war.
The strikes came as U.S. and Israeli bombardment of Iran and Lebanon continued, including a strike on a hotel near Beirut and a building linked to the Assembly of Experts in Qom.
The death toll in Iran and Lebanon has surpassed 800 people.
Tehran has continued retaliatory attacks on Israel and U.S. targets across the Middle East for a fourth consecutive night, with strikes reported on Washington’s consulate in Dubai and a port in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.
