Iran's armed forces claimed Saturday they targeted a U.S. military logistics vessel near the port of Salalah in Oman.
The army also claimed to have struck two locations in Dubai where U.S. troops had sheltered after abandoning military bases, according to statements by the Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters, which coordinates Iran's army and the IRGC.
"A logistics vessel supporting the aggressive U.S. army was targeted by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran at a considerable distance from the port of Salalah in Oman," said Lt. Col Ebrahim Zolfaghari, the Khatam-al Anbiya spokesman, in a statement carried by Iranian state media.
The Omani government's official news agency reported earlier Saturday that the port of Salalah came under attack by two drones, injuring one foreign worker and damaging one of the cranes.
Zolfaghari added that Iran respects Oman's national sovereignty. "As we previously announced, the national sovereignty of the brotherly and friendly country of Oman is respected by the Islamic Republic of Iran," he said.
Oman has served as a key mediator between the U.S. and Iran in three rounds of nuclear talks held in the weeks before the war began. Earlier this month, Oman said the U.S. had "lost control of its own foreign policy" and accused Israel of persuading Trump to go to war with Iran.
Separately, Zolfaghari claimed that U.S. troops who had relocated from military bases to hotels and shelters in Dubai after repeated strikes on their bases were found and struck.
"In recent hours, two shelters where they were hiding in Dubai were identified. The first contained more than 400 people, the second more than 100. Both locations were struck by the precise missiles and drones of the brave soldiers of the IRGC Air Force and Navy, causing heavy casualties," Zolfaghari said, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.
