Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said Wednesday they carried out missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and several military bases used by U.S. forces across the Gulf, as tensions continue to spill across the region.

In a statement aired on state television, the Guards said the operation struck “targets in the heart of the occupied territories,” referring to Israel, along with U.S. bases in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain.

The strikes reportedly involved precision-guided missiles and attack drones.

Sirens across central Israel

Israeli media reported that rockets were launched toward central Israel early Wednesday, setting off sirens in the Sharon area. The military said it intercepted at least one rocket but did not give further details.

Air raid sirens were also heard in Jerusalem and other central areas late Tuesday into Wednesday, as more projectiles were fired from Iran. Around the same time, the Israeli military said it had started a new wave of strikes on Tehran.

The Israeli Health Ministry said the number of people injured since the start of the conflict had reached 4,918 by late Tuesday.

In Bahrain, air raid sirens were triggered, while Jordan said debris from intercepted projectiles landed near the capital, Amman, without causing damage or injuries. Saudi Arabia said it intercepted at least four drones in its eastern region.

Drone strike sparks fire at Kuwait airport

Kuwait’s military said its air defenses were actively engaging incoming missile and drone threats in the early hours of Wednesday, as the ongoing conflict increasingly reached Gulf airspace.

Officials reported multiple drone incidents across the country overnight, highlighting the scale of the aerial activity.

One of the drones struck a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, sparking a fire that emergency crews moved to contain.

Authorities said the incident caused limited damage and no casualties.

Separately, Kuwait’s National Guard said it intercepted six drones during the same period, indicating that several projectiles were neutralized before reaching their targets.

Kuwait International Airport has been hit multiple times in recent weeks. On Mar. 14, drones struck its radar system, while earlier attacks also targeted fuel storage and a passenger terminal, leaving a few people with minor injuries.

Air travel across the Gulf has been affected, with several major airlines suspending or cutting flights due to safety concerns and fuel shortages tied to the conflict.
