Iran has issued Interpol red notices for Amir Karimi and Siamand Moeini, ringleaders of PJAK, the Iranian branch of the PKK terrorist organization, along with ringleaders of several terrorist groups, Iranian authorities said.
PJAK is designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye and Iran. It is widely recognized as the Iranian branch of the PKK terrorist organization and is linked to the Qandil-based leadership structure.
The Iranian judiciary said judicial rulings, Interpol red notices and extradition requests had been issued for over 60 ringleaders and members of PJAK, the IKDP, Komala and PAK following numerous complaints filed by victims affected by the groups' actions.
Tehran said the extradition requests for the suspects had been sent to Iraq, where they reside, as well as several European countries, including Belgium, Germany, France and Sweden.
According to a statement by the Iranian judiciary, the measures were taken after many complaints were submitted by victims affected by the activities of the organizations.
The accusations against the suspects include participating in terrorist acts, directing and organizing armed operations, deceiving and abducting children, torture, rape, murder, assassination, bombing, hostage-taking, extortion, and damaging public and private property.
Iran said Interpol red notices had been issued for the suspects and that extradition demands had been forwarded to countries where they are based.
According to information obtained by Türkiye's state-run Anadolu Agency from Iranian sources, the 60 people named in the red notices include PJAK ringleaders Amir Karimi and Siamand Moeini.
The list also includes Hussein Yazdanpanah, the ringleader of PAK, and Abdullah Mohtadi, the ringleader of Komala, both of which are on Tehran's list of terrorist organizations.
Iran also notified Interpol about ringleaders of the IKDP, Komala and PAK, which Tehran classifies as terrorist groups.
