Iran says open to serious efforts to stop escalation

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran is open to any serious effort that would help stop the escalation and restore stability.

According to a statement by Oman’s Foreign Ministry, Araghchi held a phone call with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi.

Araghchi expressed satisfaction with Oman’s constructive role and its ongoing diplomatic efforts to calm the current crisis and return to dialogue and negotiations.

He stressed that the U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran have increased tensions in the region and pointed to Iran’s position calling for peace.

Araghchi said Iran is open to any serious effort that would contribute to halting escalation and restoring stability.

Oman reiterates ceasefire call

Omani Foreign Minister Busaidi reiterated his call for a ceasefire and a return to negotiations to resolve the current conflict through diplomatic means in a way that meets the legitimate demands of all parties.

Busaidi also called on Iran to act with restraint and avoid any actions that could harm good neighborly relations.
