Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) threatened Sunday to continue pursuing and killing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claiming strikes on three U.S. air bases in the region as part of the 52nd wave of Operation True Promise 4, while Netanyahu's office dismissed social media claims of his assassination as "fake news."

IRGC claims strikes on US bases, threatens to target Netanyahu

A statement reported by semi-official Fars News Agency said the IRGC targeted a "gathering center of U.S. forces" at Al-Harir Air Base in Erbil and struck the Ali Al Salem and Arifjan bases in Kuwait using "powerful Iranian missiles and drones."

The statement said the attacks were part of the 52nd wave of Operation True Promise 4, described as retaliation for the killing of workers in Iranian industrial zones.

The IRGC also said it targeted Tel Aviv's industrial zones with heavy missiles in the 52nd wave of strikes.

On Netanyahu, the IRGC statement said: "If he is still alive, we will continue pursuing and killing him with full force."

Following the latest Iranian ballistic missile attack, two people were lightly injured in Holon, central Israel, according to Israeli Channel 12.

Netanyahu's office: Assassination claims are 'fake news'

Netanyahu's office told Türkiye's state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) that social media claims suggesting the prime minister had been assassinated were "fake news" and that he was "fine."

The claims had circulated after Netanyahu joined a press conference online on March 13, and air raid sirens were not heard at the location of the meeting, while videos alleged to be AI-generated spread on social media.

His office said those claims had no basis.

Regional tensions have surged since the U.S. and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran on Feb. 28, killing at least 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting U.S. military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
