Iran and the United States will hold their fourth round of indirect talks on Sunday (May 11) in Oman’s capital, Muscat, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi announced on Friday.
“After coordination with both Iran and the U.S., the fourth round of negotiations is set to take place on Sunday, 11 May, in Muscat,” Albusaidi wrote on his official X account. He did not provide further details on the talks.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was quoted by the IRNA news agency as saying that Oman would host the upcoming round of discussions between Iran and the U.S.
“Regarding the venue and the start time of the negotiations, coordination is being awaited from the Omani side,” Araghchi said.
The fourth round of indirect talks between Tehran and Washington was originally scheduled for May 3 in Rome but was postponed for logistical reasons, according to Oman’s foreign minister, who is mediating the talks.
The negotiations follow an exchange of letters in March between U.S. President Donald Trump and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The two sides had previously held indirect talks in Oman and Rome.
