Iran has warned residents and workers to evacuate three ports in the United Arab Emirates as it announced plans to target locations it says were used to launch U.S. missile attacks against Iran.

Army spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaqari said Iran would strike what he described as the "origin of the American enemy missiles" that were fired at Kharg Island from shipping ports, docks and hideouts in the UAE.

According to Iranian state media, the ports named as targets include Jebel Ali in Dubai, Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi and Fujairah Port in the emirate of Fujairah.

"These areas have become legitimate targets due to the presence and concealment of U.S. military forces among civilian installations and will be targeted in the coming hours," Iran's Fars News Agency reported.

Iranian authorities urged residents and workers to leave the areas immediately.

"All citizens, port employees and people present around these facilities are requested to leave these areas as soon as possible to save their lives," the report said.

Hamas urges Iran to avoid targeting neighbors

The Palestinian group Hamas called on Iran to avoid targeting neighboring countries in response to recent U.S.-Israel strikes.

In a statement, Hamas said it was following the war with Iran with "deep concern" and reiterated its condemnation of what it described as "American-Zionist aggression."

While reaffirming Iran's right to respond to the attacks, Hamas urged Tehran to avoid striking neighboring countries and called on regional states to cooperate to stop the conflict and preserve ties among countries in the region.

Iran has continued launching strikes against targets in Gulf countries in recent days.

The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia reported intercepting Iranian launches over their territories earlier Thursday, while Bahrain urged residents to take shelter following new Iranian strikes.

Iran has supported Hamas for decades, providing financial and technological assistance to the Gaza-based group as part of its broader conflict with Israel.
