Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy Deputy Commander Mohammad Akbarzadeh said U.S. President Donald Trump had failed to achieve the goals he set against Iran, including system change, taking uranium and controlling the Strait of Hormuz.
Akbarzadeh made the remarks during a public address in Bandar Abbas, a city in Iran’s southern Hormozgan province, where he assessed U.S. actions toward Iran.
Referring to what he described as Washington’s failure to achieve its aims, Akbarzadeh said: “Trump has been defeated on all fronts, including system change in Iran, the theft of uranium and domination of the Strait of Hormuz.”
Akbarzadeh said Trump had made major efforts to destroy Iran’s naval and air forces but had not succeeded.
He also claimed that a U.S. military operation in Iran’s Isfahan province to “steal uranium” had failed.
Akbarzadeh said U.S. plans concerning the Strait of Hormuz and a naval blockade had also been unsuccessful.
“The plan to open the Strait of Hormuz and the naval blockade also ended in failure,” he said.
Akbarzadeh said the Revolutionary Guards Navy was prepared for all possible attacks.
He added that the force had plans that would surprise the “enemy.”
