Iranian state media outlets reported Friday that drones had directly struck oil refineries and U.S. military positions in Bahrain, citing unnamed "Arab sources."

The claim has not been confirmed by Bahraini authorities, the U.S. military, or any source independent of Iranian media.

According to Iran's Fars News Agency, unnamed Arab sources reported that oil refineries and U.S. military bases in Bahrain were targeted in a direct drone attack.

A near-identical report from Sepah News, the public affairs outlet of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said: "Arab news sources have reported a direct drone attack on U.S. oil facilities and military bases in Bahrain. In these attacks, oil refineries and American military positions were targeted."

Bahrain, which is home to the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet, has been repeatedly targeted in the escalating exchange of attacks between Iran and the United States in recent days, with Bahraini authorities activating air raid sirens and reporting interceptions on multiple occasions this week.

Bahrain's state oil company, BAPCO, has not issued any statement regarding the claimed drone attacks.

Sirens sounded in Bahrain early as regional tensions continued to escalate amid an exchange of attacks between Iran and the U.S..

"The siren has been sounded. Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place," the Interior Ministry said on the U.S. social media platform X.

The ministry did not provide a reason for activating the sirens.

The alert came after the U.S. launched a new wave of offensive strikes against Iran, marking the sixth consecutive night of US military operations targeting Iranian military assets.

Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have recently escalated regarding the Strait of Hormuz, with the two sides exchanging attacks despite signing a Pakistan-mediated Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at ending the conflict and reaching a lasting peace agreement.
