Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu formally signed Israel’s membership in the Gaza Peace Council after meeting U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington.
Netanyahu is in the United States to meet President Donald Trump and held talks with Rubio at Blair House, located next to the White House.
According to statements shared on Israeli government social media accounts, Netanyahu and Rubio, along with their respective delegations, discussed bilateral relations and regional issues during the meeting.
The talks were held as part of Netanyahu’s visit to Washington, where he is scheduled to meet U.S. President Trump.
Following the meeting, Netanyahu officially signed, on behalf of Israel, the country’s membership in the Gaza Peace Council.
The signing marked Israel’s formal entry into the council, according to the information shared by Israeli government sources.
