The Israeli Army has issued a warning to residents in the Khan Younis, Bani Suheila, and Abasan areas of the Gaza Strip, urging immediate evacuation. According to Avichay Adraee, the Israeli Army spokesperson for Arab media, these locations have been used as launch sites for rockets targeting Israel.
The statement stressed that the Israeli Army will respond with full force to any area involved in hostile activities. These regions have been repeatedly warned and are now considered high-risk combat zones.
Despite the warnings, the ongoing conflict has resulted in significant civilian suffering and displacement. The Israeli Army holds local groups responsible for the situation but the disproportionate use of force in the region continues to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis.
Residents have been ordered to evacuate immediately and move westward to the Al-Mawasi area for their safety. Adraee emphasized the urgent need to leave the area.
Israel has maintained a devastating offensive in Gaza since October 2023, resulting in the deaths of over 54,300 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children. Aid agencies have repeatedly warned about the risk of famine in the enclave, home to more than 2 million people.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its alleged war crimes against civilians in the enclave.
