An Israeli drone struck a vehicle along the Lebanon-Syria border, killing four people in an attack that underscores the continuation of Israeli military operations in Lebanese territory despite a ceasefire agreement reached more than a year ago.
The strike targeted a vehicle positioned between the Masnaa Border Crossing and the Jdaidet Yabous area, according to Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA). Residents in nearby villages reported hearing four successive, powerful explosions around the time of the attack.
Civil defense crews rushed to the border zone, where the targeted vehicle had erupted in flames. After extinguishing the fire, responders recovered the bodies of four people from the wreckage.
No official statement has been released providing further details about the identities of those killed or the circumstances surrounding the strike.
The Israeli military announced separately that it had carried out operations in the rural outskirts of the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon, stating it had allegedly targeted members of Palestinian Daesh, which is a group that has long maintained a presence in Lebanon.
The attack is the latest in a long series of Israeli military actions in Lebanon that have persisted despite a ceasefire agreement brokered on November 27, 2024. According to reports, Israel has violated the terms of that agreement thousands of times since it went into effect.
Lebanon's Health Ministry has documented a grim toll from these violations: between November 27, 2024 and November 20, 2025, Israeli attacks killed 331 people and wounded 945 others across Lebanese territory.
Israel first launched attacks on Lebanon in October 2023, and by September 2024, the conflict had escalated into a full-scale war. The broader campaign claimed the lives of more than 4,000 people and left approximately 17,000 wounded.
Even after the ceasefire, Israel continues to occupy five hilltop positions it seized in Lebanon after October 8, 2023. Israeli military also maintain a presence in other areas of southern Lebanon they have held for decades, a longstanding point of contention that predates the current conflict.
The Masnaa crossing, near where the latest strike occurred, is one of the most significant border passages between Lebanon and Syria and has historically served as a vital commercial and civilian corridor connecting the two countries.
