Israeli settlers set fire to an under-construction mosque and part of a Palestinian home in separate attacks across the occupied West Bank early Sunday. At the same time, several workers were injured in another assault east of Ramallah, according to official Palestinian media.
The attacks in the Nablus and Ramallah areas damaged residential property, construction materials and heavy equipment, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
Israeli settlers raided the southern part of Qusra, south of Nablus, and set fire to Al-Rahma Mosque, which was under construction, Mayor Abdel Azim Wadi told WAFA.
The fire burned wooden materials and construction equipment at the mosque site, Wadi said.
In the nearby town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, settlers attacked the Al-Dubbat neighborhood and set fire to the home of a Palestinian resident, security sources told WAFA.
The blaze caused partial damage to the house before firefighters brought it under control.
The attackers also spray-painted racist graffiti calling for revenge against Arabs, according to the same sources.
In a separate incident, several Palestinian workers were injured when settlers attacked a stone-crushing facility in the Ein Samiya area near Kafr Malik, east of Ramallah, local sources said.
The workers suffered various injuries and bruises during the assault.
The settlers also set fire to heavy machinery at the facility before leaving the area, according to WAFA.
The incidents came amid continued Israeli escalation across the occupied West Bank over the past several days.
Israeli settlers, backed by the army, attacked the Palestinian town of Tell near Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, killing four Palestinians.
Two Israelis were also killed in a shooting during the confrontation, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.
Following the violence, Israeli forces imposed a siege on Nablus and surrounding towns, carried out mass arrest raids and announced preparations for a wide-scale military operation across the occupied West Bank.
Since October 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have killed at least 1,182 Palestinians in the West Bank, injured thousands and detained about 24,000, according to official Palestinian figures.
