An Israeli airstrike on a home in southern Lebanon killed at least 7 people and wounded 3 others early Saturday, Lebanese state media reported, marking the worst single-strike toll since a deal in June brought a lull in hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
The National News Agency (NNA) said "a strike launched by enemy warplanes on a home" on the outskirts of the village of Ansar, toward Zrarieh, "killed seven people and wounded three others" and destroyed the home.
Rescue teams from the Islamic Risala Scouts, the Islamic Health Authority and Lebanese Civil Defense worked to clear rubble and transport the dead and wounded to hospitals in Nabatieh, according to NNA.
Israeli warplanes struck the house before dawn, according to NNA.
The strike occurred in the town of Ansar, north of the coastal city of Tyre.
Additionally, a series of airstrikes hit the Nabatieh area, including some of the heaviest strikes yet on the Ali Taher Ridge, beneath.
Israeli forces also continued strikes on the southern Lebanese towns of Nabatieh and Bint Jbeil and their surroundings.
The Israeli military reportedly blew up several homes in Bint Jbeil and opened fire with heavy machine guns on homes around the Kounine-Saff al-Hawa road.
Israeli warplanes also struck the al-Mousha area of the town of Mansouri shortly before midnight.
The Israeli military launched intensive airstrikes on Lebanon on March 2 and occupied numerous towns in the country's south.
The Lebanese government has said the number of people displaced during this period exceeded 1 million.
A ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel that took effect April 17 has since been extended several times. Lebanon's Health Ministry has said Israeli attacks on the country since March 2 have killed 4,335 people.
Under U.S. sponsorship, Beirut and Tel Aviv signed a framework agreement on June 26 calling for Israel's gradual withdrawal from all occupied Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups, including Hezbollah.
Despite that agreement, Israel has continued its offensive, which has killed 4,335 people, injured 12,277 and displaced more than 1 million residents since March 2, according to Lebanese authorities.
Israel currently occupies parts of southern Lebanon, with its military presence extending as far as about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) into Lebanese territory in some areas.
