Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Türkiye, Rashad Aslanov, said no force can harm the brotherly relations between the two countries, after Türkiye’s Center for Countering Disinformation warned of a "perception operation" targeting the ties.

Aslanov said speculation and disinformation targeting relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye had been observed on social media, Azerbaijan’s APA news agency reported.

The coordinated statements from Ankara and Baku signal concern over online campaigns aimed at the two allies’ strategic partnership, often summed up as "One Nation, Two States."

Aslanov: Türkiye-Azerbaijan ties 'will be further developed'

"The brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are based on solid foundations, and we will further develop these relations," Aslanov said, according to APA.

He said the roots of the brotherhood run very deep and that the relations are equally important at all levels, from the heads of state to all segments of the two peoples.

The ties will continue to be protected and developed, he said.

The Center for Countering Disinformation, part of the Turkish Presidency's Communications Directorate, said it had detected malicious content in some international media outlets and social media accounts targeting the countries' strategic alliance and the "One Nation, Two States" concept.

The center called the posts a clear perception operation aimed at damaging the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and undermining regional peace and stability.

"Türkiye and Azerbaijan resolutely continue their relations, which rise on the basis of common history, culture and unshakable brotherhood, in every field," the center said.

"Efforts to mislead the public with manipulative rhetoric about the strategic partnership between the two countries, the joint steps taken and the cooperation carried out will not achieve their goal," it said, urging the public to disregard "such content intended for psychological warfare" and rely only on official statements, as Ankara and Baku defend Türkiye-Azerbaijan ties.
