Türkiye’s Center for Countering Disinformation, or DMM, said Friday that relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan continue firmly in every field, based on shared history, culture and what it described as an “unshakable brotherhood.”

In a statement shared on its social media accounts, the DMM said it had identified what it described as malicious and deliberate content in some international media outlets and social media accounts targeting the close ties, strategic alliance and “One Nation, Two States” understanding between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

The center said the content constituted what it described as a perception operation aimed at damaging the longstanding relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries and undermining regional peace and stability.

DMM urges public to rely on official statements

“Türkiye and Azerbaijan resolutely continue their relations in every field, built on a common history, culture and unshakable brotherhood,” the DMM said.

It added that attempts to mislead the public through what it called manipulative narratives concerning the strategic partnership between the two countries, their joint steps and ongoing cooperation would not achieve their goal.

The DMM also urged the public not to give credence to what it described as content produced for psychological warfare purposes and called on people to rely only on statements issued by official authorities.
