The dramatic escalation of military action in the Middle East has triggered a global wave of interest in geopolitical forecasts and ancient prophecies.

Following the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Feb. 28, observers are revisiting the warnings of both modern analysts and the 16th-century seer Nostradamus.

Bombardment continues

On Feb. 28, a joint military operation by the United States and Israel targeted Iranian military, governmental and nuclear installations.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed Khamenei's death following the aerial bombardment.

Trump described the event as "the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their country." He stated that "heavy and pinpoint bombing" would continue uninterrupted for a week or longer.

While the U.S. and Israel claimed the strikes were preemptive measures against nuclear threats, Iran has historically maintained that its nuclear program was peaceful.

According to Human Rights Activists News Agency, 1,168 people have been killed in Iran since the start of the campaign. Iran responded by targeting U.S. military assets in neighboring countries, including Israel, Jordan and several Gulf states.

Rise of predictive history

Beijing-based academic Jiang Xueqin is receiving significant attention for a May 2024 lecture that appeared to gain relevance after recent events.

Known to some as "China’s Nostradamus," the Yale-educated professor used a framework called "Predictive History" to forecast a second Trump presidency and a subsequent major confrontation between the U.S. and Iran.

Jiang’s analysis, shared with his 1.5 million YouTube subscribers, suggests the conflict could become a "war of attrition." He warns that the United States could eventually lose a prolonged war due to Iran’s mountainous terrain and large population.

"Iran has been preparing for such a confrontation for nearly two decades," Jiang stated during an appearance on the news program Breaking Points.

He argued that groups like Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas aim to exhaust U.S. power over time rather than seeking an immediate battlefield victory.

Ancient prophecies meet drone warfare

Followers of Michel de Nostredame, the 16th-century French astrologer, claim several of his 1555 quatrains describe the 2026 conflict.

One specific passage from "Les Propheties" mentions a "great swarm of bees" that arises by night. Modern interpreters suggest this metaphorically describes the drone swarms currently utilized by both U.S. and Iranian forces.

Other interpretations of Nostradamus's work include:

  • Duration of conflict: A passage referencing a "seven-month great war" has led some to believe the current hostilities will last until late 2026.
  • Symbolism of Mars: References to Mars ruling his path are seen by believers as a sign of violent global conflict, as Mars is the ancient Roman god of war.
  • Geographic anomalies: Critics note that some verses mention French cities like Rouen and Evreux, which have no clear connection to the Middle East.

Predictions of second phase

British psychic Craig Hamilton-Parker, often called the "Prophet of Doom," claims his 2026 predictions are manifesting.

He previously forecast strikes on Iranian nuclear installations and now expects a second phase of "very targeted attacks" this month.

Hamilton-Parker stated that he anticipates swift airstrikes rather than "boots on the ground" followed by a quick withdrawal. He explained that these attacks would target remaining nuclear facilities because they cannot be left intact.

He also cautioned that political upheaval can create new risks. “Revolutions do not always lead to the outcomes people hope for; sometimes, worse regimes take control. I'm not saying that will happen here, but it is a risk,” he said, as reported by The Mirror.

Hamilton-Parker works alongside his wife, Jane, and draws his information from spiritual readings and ancient Indian Nadi texts. He has cultivated a worldwide audience after previously claiming to foresee the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the COVID-19 pandemic.

He often uses symbolic imagery in his readings, such as red and yellow flags and a lion soaring over Iran, which he claims are now manifesting in reality.
