PJAK, the Iranian offshoot of the terrorist PKK organization, will soon reach the stage of laying down arms as the "Terror-Free Türkiye" process evolves into a "terror-free region" stretching from Syria and Iraq to Iran, Turkish security sources stated.

The sources said the process is continuing without problems and that, after Syria and Iraq, Iran is next, adding that Türkiye is tracking every development in the region.

"The terror-free Türkiye process is evolving into a ‘terror-free region.’ Soon PJAK will also come to the stage of laying down arms. We are following every development in the region. We are nowhere openly; we are everywhere covertly," the sources said.

"It is progressing with very nice and confident steps," they added.

PJAK 'will probably join process,' sources say

The sources said Iraq and Syria are working on integration and weapons collection, while Iran is also taking serious measures.

"Currently, work on integration and the collection of weapons continues in Iraq and Syria. Besides these two countries, Iran is also taking very serious measures. PJAK will probably join the process in the future," the sources said.

"All developments are evolving toward a ‘terror-free region.’ That is the ultimate aim anyway," they added.

The sources said relations with Iraq’s new government are strong.

"Relations with Iraq’s new government are very good; we are not experiencing any problems," they said, adding, "We always give them the message: ‘We stand behind our words. Once my border security is ensured and the terror threat is eliminated, what business do we have in your country?’"

Turkish warship visits Latakia as Syria cooperation deepens

The sources pointed to growing military contacts with Syria.

"Two weeks ago, Syrian Naval Forces Commander Brig. Gen. Muhammad al-Saud came to Türkiye with an accompanying delegation and held talks. In return, a delegation from our side went to Syria’s port city of Latakia with our warship," they said.

"We also continue to train the Syrian army. In short, we are everywhere and nowhere. We don’t shout ‘I’m here.’ Without revealing ourselves, covertly, we closely monitor and advance everything," the sources added.
