Erdogan emphasizes Türkiye’s support for Azerbaijan-Armenia peace talks

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Türkiye supports progress in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia during a phone call with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday, according to Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

In a statement released following the phone conversation, the Communications Directorate said that Erdogan emphasized Türkiye’s continued support for efforts aimed at advancing the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process.

The statement noted that Türkiye views progress in this process as an important element of regional stability.

The statement, which was shared on the social media platform X, said Erdogan underlined that Türkiye and Azerbaijan continue to work together closely to achieve their common goals.

It added that this cooperation spans all areas, with particular emphasis placed on trade as a key field of collaboration between the two countries.

According to the statement, the phone call reflected the ongoing coordination between Ankara and Baku.

It emphasized that both leaders attach great importance to strengthening bilateral relations while also maintaining a focus on regional stability efforts.

During the conversation, Erdogan also congratulated Aliyev on his birthday.

In addition, he conveyed his best wishes for the upcoming New Year, the statement said.
