Albanian President Bajram Begaj said Tuesday that relations between his country and Türkiye are excellent and stable, built on historic friendship, strategic cooperation, and shared interests in security, stability, and progress.

Begaj spoke at a dinner organized by the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) Albania Branch in the capital Tirana, attended by representatives of Albanian and Turkish institutions and business communities.

"Relations between Albania and Türkiye are excellent and stable, based on historic friendship, strategic cooperation and shared interests in the areas of security, stability and progress," Begaj said.

Economic partnership a 'fundamental pillar' of relations

Begaj said economic partnership is one of the fundamental pillars of Albanian-Turkish relations.

"In recent years, there has been a continuous increase in trade volume, cooperation in tourism and investment interest from both countries. This is clear evidence of the trust and shared perspective that our countries have," Begaj said.

The Albanian president noted that the Albania-Türkiye Investment Forum held in October, attended by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, demonstrated real potential for transforming initiatives into concrete projects with mutual impact.

Begaj expressed appreciation for MUSIAD's contribution to bringing businesses closer together, exchanging experiences, promoting investment opportunities and strengthening Albania-Türkiye economic dialogue.

MUSIAD: 'Historic' business forum held this year

MUSIAD Albania Chairman Muhammet Isler said the organization has given new momentum to Türkiye-Albania trade relations, increased members' investment volume, intensified sectoral meetings and diplomatic contacts, and further strengthened the presence of Turkish investors in Albania.

"This year, we successfully realized the Albania-Türkiye Business Forum, which we initiated under the leadership of Prime Minister Edi Rama, with a strong vision and high participation," Isler said.

"With the attendance of our Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, we were honored to sign a historic forum on behalf of the business communities of the two countries, unprecedented in terms of scale, content and impact," Isler added.
