Economic relations built on 'solid and practical foundations'

Speaking at the Egypt-Türkiye Business Forum held in Cairo on Wednesday, Sisi welcomed Erdogan's visit and praised the economic momentum achieved in recent years.

"I extend my deep appreciation to the business communities of both countries, which have succeeded in capturing increasing momentum in economic and commercial cooperation in recent years. This reflects the strength of ties and common interests between Egypt and Türkiye," Sisi said.

"Economic relations between Egypt and Türkiye are built on solid and practical foundations. The strong economic integration between the two countries, geographical and cultural proximity, political and commercial will have contributed to achieving unprecedented levels of trade and investment cooperation," he added.

Sisi noted that Egypt is Türkiye's most important trade partner in Africa, while Türkiye is one of the most important destinations for Egyptian exports.

"Turkish investments in Egypt have exceeded $4 billion. This success has been made possible thanks to the joint efforts of governments and the business community," he stated.

Marking the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Sisi said he and Erdogan agreed during their talks that cooperation potential "has not yet been fully realized."

Priority sectors: Automotive, chemicals, metals, home appliances

Sisi later pointed to joint cooperation areas between the two countries, emphasizing the need to promote joint industrial investments in technologically significant priority sectors including automotive and spare parts, chemicals, metals and home appliances.

He noted that global developments require the nationalization of supply chains and bringing them closer to markets, emphasizing the importance of integrating Turkish industrial expertise with Egypt's advantages.

Sisi also highlighted the partnership between Türkiye and Egypt on maritime transport lines and port services.

He underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation in renewable energy and environmentally clean production in line with global market trends.
