Latifa al-Droubi, wife of Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, graduated Sunday from the Arabic language department at Idlib University, where the president attended a ceremony celebrating the “Victory and Liberation Class.”
In her speech, Droubi said, “I stand with you today not as a first lady, but as a Syrian student who carried a dream in her heart and pursued it despite the challenges, completing her academic journey at the esteemed Idlib University.”
"Today I stand on a land that has endured, blossomed with hope, nurtured knowledge, and embraced thousands of stories that pulse with life," Daroubi said
She also expressed her gratitude to Sharaa, acknowledging him as her foremost supporter as a woman, a wife, and a student committed to pursuing knowledge.
Droubi was seen in photos from the ceremony holding her graduation certificate, which was presented to her by Sharaa, amid visible applause and celebration.
Social media users have shared photos of Sharaa with his wife, highlighting the couple’s affectionate and close relationship.
Earlier, Sharaa told Al Arabiya that his life had been far from stable, moving between multiple residences, including living in the mountains with his wife.
Sharaa recalled that he had often encouraged his wife to move to a safer place with their children, but she had consistently refused and remained steadfast, adding that he could always find her support and warmth in her smile beside him.
Droubi made her first public appearance in early February when she was seen accompanying Sharaa on official visits to Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
Her appearance attracted significant media attention, as she had previously been unknown in public circles.
