Artists at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art painted miniature portraits on a traditional vase to honor students who lost their lives in a U.S. and Israeli attack on a school in Minab. The tribute took place on Sunday during the "An Embroidery on Minab" art exhibition in Tehran.

The gathering aimed to highlight the cultural heritage of the country's southern regions while honoring the memory of the students and teachers killed in the attack through creative expression.

Musicians performed classical wind instruments during the cultural session at the facility.

The live musical presentation ran parallel to the visual art exhibition, creating a solemn atmosphere that blended regional traditions with national remembrance.

Context of Minab school assault

The missile assault targeted and destroyed a girls' primary school located in the city of Minab, a region situated in southern Iran.

According to media reports, the devastating aerial strike resulted in the deaths of more than 150 individuals, the vast majority of whom were young female students and their teachers who were present inside the educational facility at the time of the incident.

In addition to the massive loss of life, the attack left almost 100 other people severely wounded, creating an immediate emergency that overwhelmed local medical infrastructure.

Emergency response teams and medical staff throughout the surrounding Hormozgan province worked continuously to extract survivors from the collapsed building structures and transport dozens of critically injured victims to nearby municipal hospitals for urgent care.

Beyond the immediate physical destruction, the high number of civilian casualties from this military strike left a profound psychological and social impact on the local community of Minab.
