Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic emphasized that his country places special importance on its relations with Türkiye for regional stability during a meeting with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Belgrade on Monday.
Following their discussions in the Serbian capital, Vucic expressed satisfaction with hosting Minister Fidan in a post shared on his Instagram account.
Vucic highlighted that relations between Türkiye and Serbia are characterized by intensive political dialogue and comprehensive cooperation across various fields.
"I am confident that our meeting will contribute to further strengthening the relations between Serbia and Türkiye, which are characterized by intensive political dialogue and comprehensive cooperation, from economy and energy to tourism, culture, and education," Vucic stated.
The Serbian president added, "Serbia attaches special importance to its relations with Türkiye. Türkiye, with its great influence, is a key actor for the stability of the entire region."
Vucic specifically mentioned his pleasure regarding Türkiye's confirmation of participation in EXPO 2027, which will be held in Belgrade.
"I am particularly pleased that Türkiye has confirmed its participation in EXPO 2027 in Belgrade. This decision is a concrete indicator of our strong partnership and mutual trust," he noted.
The meeting underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries, which have seen increased cooperation in recent years despite historical complexities in the region.
According to Serbian media reports, both sides discussed further enhancement of bilateral relations across multiple sectors during the meeting.
