Turkish national team player Alperen Sengun led the Houston Rockets to a 122-113 preseason victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, finishing as the game's leading scorer.
Sengun recorded 19 points, five rebounds, six assists and two blocks in approximately 17 minutes of action in the Rockets' first preseason game.
The Turkish center shot 5-of-9 from the field, 2-of-2 from three-point range and 7-of-7 from the free-throw line.
JD Davison scored 17 points for the Rockets, while Amen Thompson added 11 and Tari Eason contributed 10.
For the Hawks, Nickeil Alexander-Walker's 13 points and 11 points each from Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu were not enough to prevent the defeat.
The 2025-2026 NBA season will begin Oct. 22 with a matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets.
Sengun, a 23-year-old center standing 6-foot-11 and weighing 243 pounds, was drafted in the first round as the 16th overall pick in 2021.
